Lancashire DAF opens doors to flagship TRP shop

Jonathan Francis, Branch Manager

DAF Dealer in Preston, Lancashire DAF, has opened the doors to Lancashire Truck & Trailer – a new, dedicated ‘TRP shop’ facility on the Victory Trading Estate in Bolton. TRP is DAF Trucks’ trailer and all-makes parts offering, available across the company’s 130-strong dealer network, and at a growing number of dedicated TRP shop locations.

Benefitting from its strategic location to the south of Bolton, operators can enjoy easy access to and from the A666 and M61 – significantly reducing downtime for many. With the DAF brand now staking a major claim in the North West, DAF Trucks expects dedicated TRP Shops to become an increasing presence right across its UK Dealer map.

The latest TRP shop opening in Bolton sees DAF Trucks responding quickly to an increasing demand from its customers, and the wider operating community, for fast access to a broad range of parts, competitively priced and on their doorstep.

Representing a £300,000 investment, the new 2,700  sq.ft Lancashire Truck & Trailer facility will develop Lancashire DAF’s already impressive Parts business. “We’re making an already slick Parts service even faster and even more efficient,” said Jonathan Francis, Branch Manager at Lancashire Truck & Trailer, “Our new TRP Shop in Bolton brings us even closer to many new and existing customers. Indeed, we can offer Parts deliveries to within half-an-hour in the local area for stock items.

“Of course, a new location demonstrates to an even wider customer base that we’re extremely serious about our trailer and all-makes parts offering,” he said.

Although Lancashire Truck & Trailer in Bolton is dedicated to TRP trailer and all-makes Parts, Lancashire DAF’s main location at Walton Summit, Preston, offers both genuine DAF and TRP-branded Parts.

With a stock-holding of 12,000 lines, equating to £1.2 million of stock, DAF and TRP branded Parts make-up 96% of Lancashire DAF’s Parts business. Eight full-time Parts specialists support ten delivery vans across the Lancashire region, offering rapid-response deliveries to within the hour on stock items. A 24-hour Parts delivery service is provided from 8.00am Monday through to 12.30pm on Saturday.

A number of other DAF Dealers already benefitting from TRP Shop capability, and DAF Trucks’ Part Marketing Manager, Stewart Davies, believes the DAF Dealer map will continue to feature an increasing number of satellite TRP facilities. “We’re seeing a shift in our Parts marketing strategy,” he said, “With the support of our Dealer Network, we’re looking at many more strategically positioned locations where large premises are not required and from where we can deliver an ultra-responsive Parts service to the maximum number of operators.”
